There are three components of the health triangle 1. Physical HEALth 2. SOCIAL HEALTH 3. MENTAL HEALTH

physical health

  • our bodies tell us about our physical health. We must keep track of all of the items below to ensure we have good physical health
  • our height and weight
  • Are we in shape or not?
  • do we have any diseases or sickness?
  • how are our heart, lungs and organs?
  • Are we getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep daily?
  • are we eating a nutritious and well balanced diet?
  • are we keeping harmful substances like smoking, drugs and alcohol out of out body?

Social health

  • having enough positive social interaction with the people around us impacts our social health. how are your relationships with the people below?
  • family
  • friends
  • spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend
  • authority figures

mental health

  • mental or emotional health is the final part of the health triangle. below are examples of what makes up our mental health
  • our thoughts and feelings
  • our overall knowledge
  • learning new skills
  • our self esteem
  • our attitude and outlook towards ourselves, others and the world
  • reducing stress
  • mental illness

In order for us to achieve our peak health and well being, our mental, physical and social health must all be equally balanced. That means that if you have strong physical and social health, but are lacking in mental health, you are not in balance.
