PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Trichomoniasis:
Sexually transmitted infection in women. Causes foul vaginal discharge, genital itching, and painful urination.
Causes:
It's caused by a tiny parasite ( one-called protozoan). This parasite travels between people during sexual intercourse.
Symptoms:
A foul smelling vaginal discharge which can be white,grey,yellow, or green.
Can also cause genital redness, itching,burning and pain with urination and sexual intercourse.
Risk Factors:
Having multiple sexual partners. History of other sexually transmitted diseases.
Treatments:
The most common treatment is to swallow one megadose of either metronidazole or tinidazole. Both you and your partner need treatment and need to avoid unprotected sex until the infection is cured.
