295-168 B.C.: Antigonid Dynasty rules.
280 B.C.: Colossus of Rhodes built.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Art and Literature:
-focused more on the real rather the ideal
-depiction of man revolved around exuberant, and often amusing themes that explored the daily life and emotional world of humans, gods, and heroes
-reached new heights of innovations
-sculptures and canons of Polykleitos remained influential and were copied throughout the Hellenistic and Roman Eras

Science and Mathematics:
-became more matured
-practical inventions were created to help discover more complex
-Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the earth within 1500 miles by simultaneously measuring the shadow of two vertical sticks placed one in Alexandria and one in Syene, which helped the people discover the earth was round
