In Australia, the band is known as ACCA DACCA.
Hells Bells was AC/DC'S first track after the death of their lead singer, Bon Scott.
AC/DC recorded Hells Bells a few months after their lead singer, Bon Scott, died after a night of heavy drinking
Hells Bells is the second single from the album Back in Black, which was released in the fall of 1980. (It peaked at #16 in America)
The song is 5 minutes and 12 seconds in length, with over a minute introduction via Angus Young and Phil Rudd. The song is in the Hard-Rock genre.
The song starts with a slow bell toll for the introduction. The bell was made by John Taylor in Loughborough.
After Bon Scott died, the band thought about disbanding but quickly threw away that thought.
Hells Bells was Brian Johnson's debut. (Bon Scott's Replacement)
At the beginning, the bell tolls 13 times as a tribute to Scott and his legacy
The album was recorded in the Bahamas. The album was produced by John Lange (who also produced albums for Def Leppard)
In 2008, a Bon Scott tribute statue was placed in Fremantle, Western Australia. (His home town)
Bon Scott was rated #1 in a list of the 100 Greatest Frontmen of all-time. Ahead of Freddie Mercury (Queen) and Robert Plank (Led Zepplin).
Their are many discrepancies on what Hells Bells is about, but the band continues to tell it as "A tribute to Scott and his legacy with the band."
Along with Who made Who, Hells Bells was part of Stephen Kings "Maximum Overdrive" soundtrack.
Many people thought after the death of Bon Scott, the band could never make a comeback. Brian Johnson quickly proved this false.
In fact, Johnson's debut, Back in Black, went in to be the bands biggest album. Earning Double Diamond Status and becoming the 5th best selling album, ever.
