• Sentors and Representatives serve the people
• They make laws for the people
• They do what they can to make sure their state excels
• They look to make their area/state better financially
• They look to make their area/state better physically

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENATOR

• You must be at least 30 years of age
• You must have been a citizen for at least 9 years
• You must inhabit the state in which you wish to represent

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A REPRESENTATIVE

• You must be at least 25 years of age
• You must have been a citizen for at least 7 years
• You must inhabit the state in which you wish to represent

HOW THEY ARE ELECTED

• Since the 17th amendment, voters in each state have selected Senators during the regular November elections.
