  • LD students will benefit from techniques

  • ALL help ELLs know how structure works

  • students add graphics to their writing
  • TALK - see next card in deck

Talk First

  • collaborate orally
  • think-pair-share
  • talk about text after summary
  • talk about text after quick read
  • write last after many opportunities to talk

  • Reading support for ELLs is good for everyone
  • Thoughtful planning for curriculum is so important
  • Talking first gives students confidence & ideas to write
