Hemophilia is passed down in males. Hemophilia is a recessive trait. It is carried on the X chromosome. Hemophilia is a disease where blood does not clot properly, so it's harder for bleeding to stop when you get a cut.
There are treatments available for hemophilia. The main treatment is called replacement therapy. Replacement therapy is when clotting factor is slowly injected into the veins so the blood will clot normally.
