Model T

YOUNG HENRY

  • Was born on July 30, 1863 on his fathers farm.
  • Early on in his childhood he demonstrated characteristics that would maki him successful.
  • He easily learned about full sized steam engines, and watches, water wheels.
  • used the watches as textbooks to learn the rudiments of machine design
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability, Facility Leadership Learning by trial and error.

In 1879, he left the farm to become an apprentice at a Michigan car company.
In 1888 ford married Clara Bryant, and in 1891 moved to Detroit where Henry had taken a Job as a night engineer, for the Edison Electric Illumination Company, by 1896 he had risen to Chief Engineer.

THE QUADRYCYCLE

  • In 1896 he made his first self propelled car.
  • He called it, The Quadrycucle

On June 16, 1903 Henry incorporated in his third automotive venture, Ford Motor Company.
After his last two failed, due to low business knowledge.

INTRODUCED MODEL T ON OCTOBER 1, 1913

MODEL N BECAME THE BEST SELLING CAR IN THE COUNTRY.

Ford motor company was 1st in the U.S. Market for a few years straight. Then fell 3rd, behind General Motors, and Chrysler corporation, due to not remodeling the cars and making changes.

BY 1927 FORD WAS THE LARGEST COMPANY

  • Making steel
  • Glass
  • Tires
  • And other components that went into cars

After Pearl Harbor ford was one of the major U.S. MilitaryContractors, supplying airplanes, engines, jeeps and tanks.

MODEL T

  • Introduced on october 1, 1908
  • Easy to operate and maintain, and handle on rough roads.
  • It immediately became a huge success
  • In 1992 you could get a model T for as little as $269.
  • While making the model T, henry ford improved the assembly line, and increasing production.

Henry Ford had laid out the Foundation of the twentieth century, and the Model T spawned mass auto-mobility, changing our live pattern, our landscape and even our atmosphere.
