• Also known as Valcan
• He is ugly from birth
• Clever with his hands
• He is the only god to be physically ugly.

FAMILY

• Son of Zeus and Hera.
• Other sources say he did not have a father
• The Olympians made Aphrodite marry him

SYMBOLS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hephaestus built various pieces of armor
• Weapons such as Zeus's thunderbolts
• Athena's spear
• Poseidon's trident

WEAKNESSES

• Small in size compared to other gods
• Doesn't forgive easily
• Very jealous

1. Hera was up set about having an ugly child and threw him off mount Olympus.
