Back when Hermes was still an infant he secretly got out of his cradle to
start his journey to northern Greece. His aim was to steal the cattle of
his half brother Apollo. When he discovered the herd he pulled the hoofs out
of the cows feet attaching them in reverse order. He then took the herd and hid
them in a cave. Then he want back to mount Cyllene to his cave.

Once Apollo found out Hermes took his cattle he
went straight to Hermes' mother to take Hermes to Zeus.
He told Zeus about Hermes stealing the cattle. Zeus did not
punish Hermes because he found the story amusing. All he did
was tell him to return the cattle. After this Hermes offered Apollo his lyre.

WHY ARE MYTHS STILL AROUND??
Myths are still around because people
like to know about what ancient people
believed.
I think myths were created because they
wanted to teach people things in a fun way.
