WHAT DOES HEROIN LOOK LIKE?

  • Fine white powder
  • Can also be rose gray, brown or black
  • Coloring comes from additives which have been used to dilute it.
  • Can be "shot up," snorted and smoked

TESTS

  • Saliva test: available 1 hour after use. Can be used for 7-21 hours.
  • Urine test: available after 2-5 hours after use. Can be used for 2-4 days.
  • Hair test: available after 5-7 days and can be used up to 90 days after use.

PHYSICAL EFFECTS

  • Connects with molecules in the nervous system called opioid receptors
