Low, nearly level flood plains, terraces, and bayous are composed of out wash deposits
Hardwood forests dominate in the woodland that remains

Pigeon Creek originates in Gibson County and travels through Warrick and Vanderburgh counties, eventually discharging in the Ohio River
Flooding occurs annually along side the Ohio River in bottomlands

Watersheds are important because the surface water features and storm water runoff within a watershed ultimately drain to other bodies of water.
Ways to protect watersheds: participate in clean up, join watershed protection teams, monitor watersheds, restore projects
