WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE HIMALAYAS ON A MAP?

YOU CAN FIND THE HIMALAYAS ON A MAP IN SOUTHEAST ASIA, SOUTH OF THE TIBETAN PLATEAU.

The Himalayas were formed

50 MILLION YEARS AGO!

GEOLOGISTS, IN THE PAST FEW YEARS, HAVE USED SOPHISTICATED

TOOLS TO FIGURE OUT HOW THESE MOUNTAIN RANGES GOT THEIR SHAPE.

This landform is still rising by more than 1 cm per year. But, at the same time, the forces of weathering and erosion are making the Himalaya peaks lower at about the same rate.

5 FUN FACTS ABOUT THE HIMALAYAS!

  • One of the youngest mountain ranges in the world is the Himalayas.
  • The most restless set of mountains is known to be the Himalayas.
