PRESENTATION OUTLINE

How did Hinduism begin?
Also know as Sanatana Dharma, began about 4000 years ago in India with the Aryans. The religion, beliefs and philosophy was carried on thanks to their recordings in the Vedas .

Hinduism revolves around God but in different forms or "reincarnations" of Him. Normally they refer to Him as Brahman. But the one they believe is inside of them is called Atman.

Krishna and Rama are known to be incarnation of Gods manifest. People prey to them and look to them from how they went about their human lives.

The incarnations of Brahman, like Krishna and Rama have a special relationship with God and the people because of their name. They can also be prayed to and asked for protection

The people in the Hindu faith worship Brahman and other incarnations of him at a temple or mandir. They don't have a certain time to go and worship, they go and come as they please.

Hindus strongly believe in karma. Now most people only think of it as bad, but the Hindus believe there is good and bad. If you do something good to others, good karma comes to you and vise versa.

Hindus believe strongly in soul reincarnation. They believe when you die you soul comes back as many more things until all karmas are fixed and the souls destiny is fulfilled.

One of the many religions the Hindus celebrate is Hoil. It's one of their holidays that aren't so religious in Early March. It celebrates spring and remembers many events in Hindu mythology.

Diwali is also a celebrated holiday by the Hindu religion. It's very much like New Years Eve for Christians. It's celebrated as the Festival of Lights. Welcoming the new year because it takes place on the last day they have on their calendar.
