- Thought earth was the center of all things
- He thought that if the earth went around the sun, the relative positions would change earth moves

- His model was not widely accepted at the time

- Lived in Egypt
- His book, Almagest, one of the earliest books we still have
- Developed a detailed geocentric model

- Felt Ptolemy's model was too complicated
- Developed the first detailed heliocentric model
