• They decided to try what is now helena
• This was their last chance at getting gold

• Montana is the 7th largest gold producer in america
• Some of the richest panning spots can produce $1000 per pan

TYPES OF MINERS

• Many immagrants moved to montana
• The french the mexican and many indian tribes mined in montana
• Many of these people got involved in the fur trade

LAWS

• With these new people that came to montana there needed to be some laws
• A lot of times they decided to solve the crimes by hanging the people
• Until 1995 hanging was the method of execution in montana

MINING CAMPS, THEY SUCKED

• The mining camps were not sanitary at all
• They were dirty and they stank
