PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The conqueror of the Inca Empire was Francisco Pizarro.
Pizarro set sail in 1531 with 180 me to conquer the Incas with a population of 12 million.
He was lucky though, because just before hand the Incas fought a civil war and they were weakened.
They reached the Inca Empire in 1532, at Atahualpa.They launched a suprise attack and captured the city. He killed 10,000 Incas for the loss of five Spaniards.
Atahualpa offered to fill a room with gold and silver if he was released. Pizarro melted down the metals and then killed Atahualpa anyway because he could lead a rebellion against the Spanish rule.
Pizarro captured the capital city, Cuzco. He founded the city of Lima, which became the capital of the new Spanish colony.
Pizarro was killed during a dispute in 1541. The Incas never stopped fighting until 1570 until they were finally crushed
One result of the Inca Empires demise was was the discovery of gold and silver mines. The amount of metal doubled in Europe because of the conquest
