ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand army corps.
The Anzacs Landed in Galipoli on the 25.4.1915.
the cove where they landed was later called the Anzac cove.
They fought for nine long months.
During that time 120,000 soldiers died.

The ANZACS aim was to capture the Dardinelles.
The first ANZAC day was on the 16th of April 1916.
The french and the British were fighting against the Turkish also.
Anzac day is very important to Australian and New Zealanders.

Gallipoli peninsula
Gallipoli is in Turkey.

Flanders field
The poppy is a symbol of ANZAC day it is in remembrance of the soldiers
who have passed and who are still serving for us.
Flanders or red poppies are linked with battlefield deaths.
it was the first plant to grow in the mud.
The poem Flanders field was written by John McCrae in 1915.

The ode was written my Laurence Binyon in 1914.
