Aristotle

  • He was a Greek philosopher.
  • He thought the earth was the center of all thing.
  • He drew a picture of what he thought it looked like.
  • In his drawing he put earth in the center.
  • Then he put all of the other planets, sun, and stars around it.

Aristarchus

  • He was a Greek astronomer and mathematician.
  • He proposed a heliocentric model of our solar system.
  • It consisted of many measurements
  • Earth to star, sun to star, earth to sun.
  • His idea was a main contribution to science but solved mathmaticly.

Ptolemy

  • He was an astronomer and he was a geographer.
  • His model showed earth in the center.
  • It also consisted of the moon next to earth.
  • And other planets surrounding us.
  • He thought that all the planets moving in smaller circles.

  • He was a polish astronomer lived 80 years
  • Most scientists thought his model was way to complicated
  • He based his decision on just the naked eye and a telescope, and also books
  • His model was a heliocentric model and was very detailed. Using a compass and other tools
  • Sun was in the center an other planets surrounded and moon circled the earth
