DALTON'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • All matter is made of atoms. Atoms are indivisible and indestructible.
  • All atoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties

JJ THOMSON'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • Thomson discovered the electron in the year 1897.
  • His work put forward a new theory, that atom was made up of small particles.

ERNEST RUTHERFORD'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • proposed the nuclear atom as the result of the gold-foil experiment in 1911
  • Described the atom as having a central positive nucleus surrounded by negative orbiting electrons

NIELS BOHR'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • This atomic theory was a combination of Rutherford’s work and ideas of the atom, with The Quantum Theory
  • Rutherford’s atomic theory described an atomic model with all the mass concentrated in a nucleus with electrons circling the nucleus in an orbit.

IRENE CURIE'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • She conducted different experiments using alpha particles and produced radioactive phosphorus.

ROBERT MILLIKAN'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • Millikan had great contribution He performed the Oil drop Experiment. and mass of an electron.
  • This helped in determining the charge and mass of an electron
