WHEN, WHERE, WHY

  • First domesticated 11,000-9,000 BC
  • Found in an Iranian (from Iran)statuary during the period

THE WILDERNESS

  • Feral sheep are found in secluded areas. Mountains for example
  • Sheep were not bred for survival, they were bred for resources
  • In captivity they live in rolling pastures or barns

THE WORLD

  • Different regions of the world have different breeds of sheep
  • Sheep are bred for many reasons, wool, meat, or show.
  • Depending on where you live in the world will have different sheep in the area.

AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

  • These countries have some of the biggest sheep economies in the world
  • They are receiving criticism being to "painful" and "unnecessary"
  • Besides the point they have some of the worlds wool and meat supply
