History Of The Napoleonic Wars

Napoleonic Wars:

The Napoleonic Wars was a time period in the 1800s when France basically declared war on all of the countries in Europe, and actually occupied most of the them. It was called the Napoleonic Wars because Napoleon Bonaparte, a strategic master, was the ruler of France as well as the chief commander.

Napoleon's History

Napoleon Bonaparte was a French soldier who went up the ranks of the French military. His superiors saw that he was disciplined and intelligent, proving that he would be useful in future wars (which he was).
One of his most famous battles was when he stopped a violent revolt by ordering his troops to pull back while he loaded the cannons with grapeshot. He used the grapeshot to wipe out every person in the revolt in one volley.

Napoleon's Accomplishments:

1. Became dictator of France after proving to be worthy by single handedly winning a battle against hundreds with half of the men.
2. During the wars, he managed to occupy world powers, such as Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and 7 others.
3. He made the docks larger in French cities to allow more trade and industry in France.
4. He pushed parents to send their children to school at an earlier age, which ended up being a benefit due to the students high I.Q.

EUROPE IN 1800-1815

"So, should these wars be considered WWI?"

No, it should not be. A world war is when countries worldwide are involved in the conflict. While all of Europe, some parts of Africa and Asia fought in them, America was not involved, therefore making it a large war, just not a world war.
