It has many places of origin in Asia, at many different places, in many different times. However, the first commercial toilet paper was invented by Joseph c. Gayety, but never patented. 14 years later, it was patented by Seth wheeler.

Toilet paper has impacted society and made the world a more comfortable place. To some, it may not seem like a big thing, but it's hard to imagine life without it!
