THE FIRST ESTATE

  • The first estate only makes up 1% of the population
  • Made up of the clergy(the church)
  • Has rich and poor people
  • Wealthy abbots, lived in luxury from church lands
  • Payed no taxes

  • Makes up about 2% of the population
  • Consisted of nobles
  • Payed few taxes
  • We're very wealthy
  • Very privileged

  • Makes up 98% of the population
  • Peasants make up the largest group
  • The people were very poor
  • Payed large amounts of taxed
