  • Ww2 was the biggest lose of life since ww1
  • With Hitler rising to power the nazis target anyone with different morals
  • WIth the places like Auschwitz common people had to tread carefully

  • With Germany expanding from every direction there is nowhere to flee
  • The US had thousands of immigrants fleeing the war
  • With threats around every corner people try to hide from thr front of the war
  • The war decimates millions of lives and thousands of homes

WW2 FACTS

  • For every five German soldiers who died in WWII, four of them died on the Eastern Front.
  • It is estimated that 1.5 million children died during the Holocaust.
  • The longest battle of WWII was the Battle of the Atlantic, which lasted from 1939-1945.
  • The Battle of the Bulge is the largest and deadliest battle for U.S. troops to date, with more than 80,000 American casualties.

  • World War II was the most destructive conflict in history. It cost more money, damaged more property, killed more people, and caused more far-reaching changes than any other war in history.
  • The country with the largest number of WWII causalities was Russia, with over 21 million.
  • In addition to Jews and gypsies, Jehovah’s Witnesses were also persecuted and murdered in German concentration camps.

MORE WW2 FACTS

  • WWII ended on September 2, 1945, when Japan signed a surrender agreement on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
  • Anne Frank and her sister died at Bergen-Belsen in March 1945, one month before the camp was liberated in April 1945
  • From 1940-1945, the U.S. defense budget increased form $1.9 billion to $59.8 billion

  • My grand parents went through world war 2 without any injuries
  • My grandmother was in Yugoslavia when world war 2 started
  • The elders found out the russians were coming so they sent the kids to budapest

  • When they were in budapest they slept in a abandoned school
  • They rested there for a couple of months but then had to move again
  • The russians were still pushing so they boarded cattle trains to flee the russians

MY GRANDFATHER

  • During the war my grabdfather was relatively unaffected
  • The town of Bitz was used as a stache of people, weapons, and food
  • My grandpa left Germany so that he can make a new life in america
