Three Reasons Telling Why We Should Study History

We should study history so we can learn how things like technology have progressed over time.

Examples:
1835 - Morse code invented
1838 - electric telegraph
1885 - first automobile to run on internal combustion engine

Another reason why we should study history is so we can know the important discoveries people in the past made to make today how it is.

Examples:
1492 - Columbus discovers America
1664 - Isaac Newton discovers gravity
1928 - Alexander Fleming discovers the first antibiotic, penicillin

The last, and most important reason of why we should study history is to learn from mistakes that the people in the past have made so hopefully we don't make the same ones.

Examples:
1912 - the Titanic sinks - they had enough life boats for only 1/3 of the people aboard
1914 - assassination of Archduke Ferdinand which started World War I
