  • African Americans joined the army, The troops told their loved ones good bye and set off for battle. They made camp and set up for battle, they were going to fight South Carolina. They went to sleep for the big day ahead.

  • They woke up and checked their gear. Sargent Shaw came to camp on horseback. They were ready for battle against Fort Wagner. They started war by walking by shore through gunfire.

  • They marched to the beat of the drum, cannon balls and bullets flue behind the soldiers. Smoke is in the air and foam and blood is in the water. Ned got shot, they had to retreat. The flag never touched the ground.
