ILO Critical Thinker: An artifact that demonstrates this ILO would be my molecular modeling lab. In this assignment we were assigned to build each of the molecules below(hydrogen, water, methane, etc.) using the molecular modeling kit. I followed experimental procedure from question to conclusion.
ILO Self-Regulated Learner: An artifact that reflects off of this would be the "mystery white powders lab" . In this lab we were to identify the substances in the unknown, using the individual sample as reference. By completing this lab I followed instructions to complete a laboratory experiment.
ILO A Collaborator: The law of conservation of mass demonstrates the ILO well because while working in a group I shared my responsibility for work and initiated problem solving and also worked effectively to achieve a common goal. In this lab our goal was to design an experiment testing the law of conservation of mass and by working effectively we achieved this goal.
ILO Problem Solver: An artifact that demonstrates this artifact would be "constructing covalent bonds". In this activity we were to draw the Lewis dot structure (using skittles) and draw circles to show the sharing of electrons and write the chemical formula for each formula. This assignment required problem solving because I developed and used models to solve problems.
ILO Effective communicator: The lab "investigating the law of conservation of mass" also demonstrates this ILO because it justifies a hypothesis, prediction or conclusion using data or models.
ILO Responsible Student committed to Justice: I believe an ILO that best fits this artifact would be the Clean Coal research paper that we were assigned. For this assignment I had to make research on the topic clean coal ,arguing why clean coal technology should be used. For this research paper I have given evidence, developed informed opinions about controversial scientific issues and have also developed analytical thinking abilities to address real-word problems.
ILO Spiritual and Ethical Person: The mini debate that was held in class about our research papers reflects upon this ILO in my opinion by comparing and contrasting spiritual beliefs with scientific knowledge.
