  • Served as mounts for officers
  • Moved heavy artillery
  • Worn gas masks when exposed to fumes

Horses had veterinary hospitals when injured

Horses were scared
Many Loud noises
Heard noises and interpreted them as bad
Soldiers and generals cared for the horses. Horses were brave carried supplies and charged into battle without turning around.
