HISTORY

Houston was named after Sam Houston, the general of the Texas army and the president of the Republic of Texas. The city had phenomenal growth since a small riverboat landing was established on Buffalo Bayou by the Allen Brothers in August 1836.

I would want to visit or live in Houston because it has a strong economy and has many tourist attractions. If I were to live in Houston, I would have many job opportunities and probably get high pay.
