one of the main sources a plant needs to make their own food comes from the soil. Water.

But how do plants make food from water?
. It all starts underground in the roots of the plant. When water reaches the roots it gets absorbed and goes through the xylem. After that the water makes it's way up to stem ( which is like the plants trunk. the things that keeps up from saying up like our back). After it has reached the stem the water goes in different leaves around the plant where it reaches it's destination.

The other very important source is Co2. Co2 stands for Carbon Dioxide

But how does Co2 enter the plant?
.Co2 enters the plant by entering the leaf through small holes in the underside of the leaf called stomata.

great but why do we care about Co2 and Water? Because when the two combine in a leaf they make the plant's food with is called photosynthesis. The chemical reaction is also called photosynthesis. But there is one more thing that is required to make this reaction. Sunlight sunlight is the thing that permits the reaction to occur!!! The waste product of this chemical reaction is glucose and oxygen. Plants are pretty important in our life because they make us breathe!!!!!
