How do Humans affect extreme weather?

Humans Don't directly affect weather events,

We affect the climate,

Which, in turn, affects the weather.

pollution in atmosphere ->
rise in temperature->
melting of ice formations->
change in ocean currents->
increase in extreme weather

We affect the climate by burning coal and gasoline, which pollutes the atmosphere.

The rise in temperature is caused by the greenhouse gases warming up the earth. The increase in greenhouse gases is caused by pollution.

The warmer the air the harder it is to keep something frozen like the polar ice caps, so the caps start to melt adding water to the ocean.

The increase in ocean water can change the ocean currents and the way the ocean moves.

The ocean affects a lot of extreme weather events, so change in ocean currents means a change in weather events.

Some people believe that extreme weather is caused by humans, though.

They think that deforestation, engineered rivers, and filled wetlands are all breaking apart the earth slowly, causing more disasters.

Senior Researcher and author of Unnatural Disasters, Janet Abramovitz, says,"We've altered so many natural systems so dramatically, their ability to protect us from disturbances is greatly diminished."

They also think the rising population puts demands on certain landscapes and the demands are too much for the earth.

Even with that theory, humans don't directly start or stop natural disasters.

They take actions that may, in the long run, possibly hurt the Earth.
