.Sound travels in waves. .It travels the fastest in a solid. .Sound does not travel where no particles are present. .Sound is measured with oscilloscope. .The speed of sound in air is 332 metres per second. . it has to go through our ears to be heard . The scale of the loudness of the sound is measured in decibels. sound is measured in hertz (Hz)
we measure sound with a oscilloscope. Once the wavelenght is calculated the number of waves per second = the hertz human hearing goes from 20hz to 20 000 hz (20khz). As you grow older your hearing range decreases (at around 20 years old it starts going back down)
Unwanted sound= noise .Sound's loudness is measured in decibels (db) minimum human hearing is around 15 decibels and the max without harming your hearing is around 80 decibels.e.g a baby makes 90 decibels sound wise.
