Conduction occurs when heat is transferred from molecule to molecule through direct contact. Like when you touch a hot pan.
ex. Touching a hot spoon.

Convection occurs when heat is transferred by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water. This is how a furnace works.
ex. How hot/cold air moves through your house from a furnace.

Radiation occurs when heat is transferred through electromagnetic waves. That is how we feel the suns heat.
ex. A person sunbathing on the beach.
