  • You can pick whichever badge you would like to work on.
  • If you really like a certain badge you can earn it more than once.

EACH BADGE HAS A BROCHURE. HERE ARE THE FRONT COVER AND THE INSIDE.

DESCRIBE WHAT YOU READ/LISTENED TO AND WRITE OR DRAW ABOUT YOUR ACTIVITY. SEE STAFF FOR IDEAS.

SET YOUR GOALS AND MAKE A PLAN!

  • Write which badges you want to earn.
  • Write what you want to read or listen to.
  • Write what activities you want to try.
  • Remember activities done during these sessions can count as badge activities.
  • Ask staff, family, or friends if you need help!

WE'LL HAVE A BOOK CART WITH SUGGESTED MATERIALS ON IT. READING INCLUDES:

  • Print books or magazines
  • E-books, websites, E-audio
  • Books on cd, books on tape
  • Being read to
  • Ask if you're not sure.

  • 3 badges=pick a free book
  • 5 badges=pick a 2nd free book
  • Other rewards include: having fun, hanging out, snacking, and learning a lot
  • Let us know if there any accommodations that would make activities more accesible and fun

PLAN FOR OUR SUMMER OF LEARNING:

  • Kickoff: learn about badges, decorate folders,snacks, etc.
  • Session I: 7/11-make your own scrapbook (bring mementoes if you like), snack, etc.
  • Dress up as fav character, person, animal, make book/poster, have snack, etc.
  • For 7/25-tell staff if you know who you are going to be so we can pull books for research.
  • Wrap Up: 8/8-Celebrate everyone's accomplishments with a awards ceremony and snack.
