How Ocean Currents affect climate

By: Jordan and Eva

WHAT AN OCEAN CURRENT IS
An ocean current is the action of ocean water moving from one place to another.

HOW OCEAN CURRENTS AFFECT CLIMATE
If the ocean currents are warm they would make the area much warmer and livable for long periods of time causing the climate to change.

The Gulf Stream circulates from West Africa, to Florida, and then to Northern Europe.

The warm currents from the Gulf Stream make Northwest Europe much warmer and livable than other locations at the same latitude.

A PLACE THAT OCEAN CURRENTS AFFECT
One place in the world that ocean currents affect is the East Coast of the USA.
