-soccer is the worlds most well known sport
-It consist of 11 players on each team
-the objective of the game is to try to get the ball into the opponents goal without using your hands.
The most prevalent sport in the world has more to it than what meets the eye. Soccer is a pastime that people channel many of their emotions through. Fans are key in keeping the sport alive. People use soccer as something to hold on to. They use it to fight century old battles, and settle ancient enmity peacefully. Entire cities and nations celebrate when their teams win. People are willing to support their teams at all costs. Soccer is clearly close to the hearts of many people around the world.
But how does it affect the World??

My first suggested impact(competition+rivalry) has many facts to support it. I am going to elaborate on a few.

Soccer is older than the conflicts between most countries, and helps to settle their social disputes without violence.

Organizations such as FIFA and 208 other participating organizations set the standard for the game, and keep it fair and reasonable.

Stadiums are filled with loyal paying fans ready to watch the game.
These fans are sporting their teams merchandise such as jerseys,hats,e.t.c.

And they make billions of dollars selling their merchandise to the public and make even more by sponsoring different teams.

Wealthier teams can afford to recruit their players from 3rd world countries.
Wealthier teams also have U10-U21 teams which consist of recruited players training to play for the real team one day, and are good investments from the team.
In addition popular players can support similar causes and influence their fans to do the same.
