BY: LUKE CHAMPMAN

Believe me it's way simpler than people say. You just have to get used to using a clutch and you won't have a problem.

USING THE CLUTCH TO START MOVING

  • There will be those times when you need to go somewhere.
  • Getting the car moving is essential to this factor.
  • It is not very hard to learn and master.
  • It just takes a few easy steps that show you exactly how its done.
  • Its real easy so lets start at the beginning.

CONT.

  • First hold clutch in and start car.
  • Next put car in first gear and rev engine.
  • While reving, slowly release the clutch until the car starts to pull.
  • When it pulls give more gas and release clutch faster.
  • Once clutch is released completely, speed until RPMs are high, then shift.

SHIFTING

  • You have either 4, 5, or 6 gears.
  • Release gas pedal and push in clutch to shift.
  • After shift press gas and release the clutch.

STOPPING

  • First push in the clutch.
  • Then take it out of gear into neutral.
  • Release the clutch and slowly stop.
  • REMEMBER a manual can not stop in gear!
  • Unless clutch is held in.

STALLING OUT

  • Dont trip! Everyone does it.
  • Stalls happen when taking off wrong.
  • Or trying to stop in gear.
  • Its also caused by trying to move in the wrong gear..
  • Too many stalls can result in engine failure.

That is how you drive a manual so go out and have fun.
