How to Make "weeds" with sausage

Ingredients

list of ingredients

  • 1 T extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 T unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 lb Italian pork sausage
  • 6 T tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 lb gramigne
  • salt and ground black pepper
  • freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano

Step 1

heat up butter and olive oil

STep 2

Add the onions and cook until golden brown

Step 3

Remove casing from sausage

Step 4

Add sausage to mixture cook until very brown and almost crisp

Step 5

Add tomato paste. cook until you get a deep rust color

Step 6

Add the apple juice and cook until evaporated

Step 7

Add milk and reduce heat to a simmer

Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pot

Add pasta to the mixture and let it cook for a few minutes

Divide evenly and serve
