HOW TO STOP OR PREVENT CYBERBULLYING

DON'T RESPOND

  • A reactiom is usally what a bully wants.
  • Dont give them power over you.

REACH OUT FOR HELP

  • ITS USALLY GOOD TO INVOLVE A PARENT OR SCHOOL COUNSELOR .
  • Sometimes if you report a bully they could get help to change their behavior.

DONT RETALIATE

  • Getting back at the bully might turn you into one.
  • Or reinforce the bully's behavior.

BE A FRIEND, NOT A BYSTANDER

  • Forwarding mean messages is being a bystander
  • Standing by and doing nothing empowers the bully
  • Tell the bully to stop or help the victim

SAVE THE EVIDENCE

  • Harassing mesages can be captured, saved, and shown to someone to help
  • Save the evidence even if its minor stuff. In case things get serious

USE REPORTING TOOLS

  • If the bullying happened on a social media use that services reporting or "abuse" tools
  • If the abuse threatens physical harm contact the pooice or involve a parent

BLOCK THE BULLY

  • If the harassments come from instant messages, texts, or profile comments use privacy tools to block the bully
  • Or if its in a chat room, leave it may not end it but it helps

BE CIVIL

  • Be decent and dont sink to his or her level
  • Gossiping or trash talking increases the your risk of being bullied

  • Don't bully them more, be nice and caring
