If you have a great video on your phone and you want to share it with friends, please watch my slideshow. Find out how to upload your favorite videos to YouTube from iPhone, iPad, or Android phone. Follow these easy steps to transfer videos to YouTube.

First of all, download YouTube app from the App Store or Google Play, and run it on your device. Sign in to your YouTube account. If you do not have a YouTube account, you need to make it since YouTube doesn’t allow anonymous video uploads. If you click “Sign-in/Sing-up” button at youtube.com, you’ll be taken to account creation page, where you need to click “Create an account” link. See the slide for details. You can go through YouTube account verification process to enjoy top-notch YouTube features such as: unlimited video file uploads or custom video thumbnails. You need to fill in your name or nickname, enter your date of birth. Optionally, you can put your phone number. But don’t worry, your phone number won’t be seen by other YouTubers. The phone number is used only for verification, password recovery and other security measures like 2-step verification. Also don’t worry, YouTube employees won’t call you. You’ll receive a text message. Make sure you have a positive balance on your phone, your mobile operator may charge you some fee for such text messages. Fortunately, messages are quite rare. After making a YouTube account, you can post your video files there.

If you have an iPhone or an iPad, tap the hamburger sign and go to “My channel”, then hit the “Upload” sign. On Android gadget go to your account and hit the red arrow sign, find a video on your phone, and then hit the “Upload” sign. Wait until the upload is completed, set the privacy settings for your video and click the “Publish” button.

You can choose any of the following privacy settings: public, unlisted and private. Unlisted settings make the video available for viewing only to people who have a direct link to it. Private settings allow you to keep your video invisible for other people, and public videos are visible for everyone.
