Things to consider:

* I take no responsibility for your mistakes...

Things to consider:

  • You will cut your face, more than one time
  • Cutting your face hurts
  • There will be blood, lots of it
  • Shaving with a straight razor should never be rushed
  • This style of taking hair off your face will take more than 20 minutes

shower:

  • Hot water on your face
  • Facial hair should be soft, not bristly
  • Under no circumstances should cold water touch your face
  • Singing is not allowed in a shower, you should perform
  • Stand in shower for a few minutes contemplating life

Shaving

Shaving properly:

  • Remove mug from bowl with water and moisten brush
  • Swirl the brush on the shaving soap, transfer brush loaded with soap to mug
  • Move brush in circular movements within the mug to create a thick lather
  • Splash warm water onto your face and rub it in
  • Transfer warm lather onto your face, where there is hair

still shaving properly:

  • Now you may take your razor
  • At a 30 degree angle, go with the grain of the hair. NEVER go against it
  • Little to no pressure is needed
  • Do not rush; the more you rush, it seems more blood appears
  • Repeat lathering your face and passing the razor a minimum of 3 times

yes, we are still shaving properly

  • You have finished your 3+ passes of the razor
  • Remember that cold towel? well,  Rinse your face with warm water
  • Slap that cold towel against your face and press it all over your face
  • Remove the cold towel, and apply your aftershave
  • If you have bled, use a styptic pencil to stop the bleeding
