HOW TO WRITE BIBLIOGRAPHY
We're going to talk about how to write the bibliography for your research paper.
An alphabetized list of the sources you used in your paper
Encyclopedia:
"Article title." Source title. Edition. Volume. City published in: Publisher, Date published. Page numbers. Print.
Magazine:
Author's last name, first name. "Article title." Magazine title (in italics!). Date, month, year published: pages used. Print.
Website:
Last name, First name. "Article Title." Website Title. Publisher of Website, Day Month Year article was published. Web. Day Month Year article was accessed. .
BE SURE TO ALPHABETIZE YOUR BIBLIOGRAPHY!
PARENTHETICAL CITATIONS:
(Author's last name, page # where you got your information)
Ex: (King 16)
Put parenthetical citations at the end of the sentence you are paraphrasing or putting in your own words: Lizzie tried to buy prussic acid (King 16).
Put a citation at the end of a direct, word for word quote from your source: "The judge decided she was probably guilty and decided she should go in front of a grand jury" (Linder 3).
A citation for a quote of someone speaking goes at the end, too:
"'You have proven nothing,' said Emma" (King 16).
Now you know. Practice, it's on your final!!!
