EARLY CAREER

  • After high school, Cosell attended NYU Law School.
  • In 1941, he enlisted in the army for World War 2 and quickly became a Major.
  • After the war ended he went back to being a lawyer until in 1953, a ABC radio manager asked him to host a TV show .
  • The tv show was on New York Flagship WABC featuring little league participants.
  • Soon after he became a boxing announcer who covered most of Muhammad Ali's career.
