FUNCTIONS OF THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

  • Supply the body with oxygen
  • Breathing air in and carbon dioxide out
  • Air passing the vocal cords creates your voice
  • Cilia keep dirt and mucus out of the lungs
  • Nose and mouth warm and wet air so it won't irritate the lungs

CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

FUNCTIONS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

  • Heart pumps blood all around the body
  • Blood carries various materials to and from different body parts
  • Blood contains cells that fight off infections
  • Maintains body temperature by transporting heat
  • Keeps pH and ionic concentration of body fluids stable

INTERACTIONS

BETWEEN THE RESPIRATORY AND CIRCULATORY SYSTEMS

  • The two systems work together to get rid of carbon dioxide
