PRESENTATION OUTLINE
HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS OF AUSTRALIA
People came from Europe to Australia in 1788 and they destroyed ecosystems.
They came and broke food chains and destroyed habitats by building houses. Many plants and animals are now extinct because of that.
They destroyed water supplies and freshwater habitats by using chemicals.
They cut down trees for timber and to make room for crop fields and pastures.
This caused Desertification.
They put out bush fires preventing some plants from spreading its seeds, like Banksia.
Pollution causes global warming and the sea level and temperature to rise. This killed some organisms in coral reefs.
Bad fishing practices killed more organisms.
They brought animals and plants from other countries that became pests.
