Basically a human rights lawyer promotes and defends human rights. They defend people whose rights have been ignored; long story short, they help people get what they deserve.
To be a human rights lawyer you must have an undergraduate degree in something law-related, go through a 3 year law school program, and take some extra courses in human rights.
The university in which I would like to study is Yale University. This university is considered one of the best law schools in the world. The downside of this school is its price. The cost is $76,340 per academic year. This number includes tuition, board, books, living expenses, and other thing but it is still considered expensive.
The bright side of this is that you can make as much as $200,000 a year. The salary depends on where you work because working in states like California or New York can help you earn about $150,000 but working in states like Texas can get you an average of $130,000.
I chose this career because I believe that I will enjoy helping other people and getting justice, so I hope everyone chooses something they enjoy and are passionate about.
