Human Right # 14

THE RIGHT TO SEEK A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE.

ARTICLE 14 OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS DOCTRINE STATES:

First, that everyone has the right to seek and enjoy in other countries asylum, free from persecution.

And second, that this right may not be invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes, or acts contrary to the prerogative of the UN.

All over, this right is being abused.

ESPECIALLY IN BORDER DISPUTES, SUCH AS IMMIGRATION, AND DEPORTATION.

Many immigrants die trying to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S.

SONORA DESERT

  • this desert has extreme climes
  • between 1998 and 2004, 1,954 immigrants died.
  • in 2009, there were 417 reported deaths.

IMMIGRANT LOST IN SONORA DESERT

  • A woman was lost in the Sonoran desert
  • The extreme climes almost killed her
  • Extreme climes kill many each year
  • They don't find many of the bodies of people who dont survive.
  • Border patrol did find her, she lived.

A HEAD START MOTHER WAS DEPORTED

  • A mexican woman is to be deported After 11 years
  • She said "I don't know why this president can tear families apart"
  • Obama said that he would make it easier for immigrants to gain citizenship.
  • so far he has madde it more difficult, and this is abusing this human right.

  • the berlin all was a huge violation of our human rights.
  • it cut off peoples ability to move freely to a safe place to live
  • it harmed peope n order to endure they could not move.
