The North Korean government denies basic freedoms to citizens, and operates a network of political prison and forced labor camps that systematically brutalize and often result in death. The government uses public executions as a way to instill fear into the people in order to maintain control.

This all happens because the country has isolated themselves so the dictator, Kim Jong-Un, has literally become mad with power and there is no connection to the outside world so then no one attempts to stop him from doing what he's doing.
