The North Korean government denies basic freedoms to citizens, and operates a network of political prison and forced labor camps that systematically brutalize and often result in death. The government uses public executions as a way to instill fear into the people in order to maintain control.
This all happens because the country has isolated themselves so the dictator, Kim Jong-Un, has literally become mad with power and there is no connection to the outside world so then no one attempts to stop him from doing what he's doing.
The UN's human rights council created a resolution for the problems that were brought to light in North Korea, and are now working to liberate the people in North Korea.
