HISTORY
When: building began with Emperor Vespasian & was completed during Titus's reign
Served as a means of entertainment to all Romans
Could seat aproxamently 50,000 people
Gladiator fights (both against other gladiators and against animals) & chariot races
Located in the center of the Roman Capitol: Rome
3.
RELEVANCE TO HUNGER GAMES
Also located in the "capitol"
Instead of fighting gladiators against each other they used tributes
Instead of watching the gladiators live, the hunger games were seen on tv's spread throuughout the districts
Weapons were accesible to tributes just like they were for gladiators
People of the capitol loved the games & they definitely served as a means of entertainment to them
